Commodores' Second Half Propels LCCC Past Lehigh Carbon CC, 101-69, in the Westmoreland CC Wolfpack Tip Off Classic

November 11, 2017 -The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team won its third straight game, 101-69, over Lehigh Carbon CC on Saturday afternoon at the Westmoreland CC Tournament.  The Commodores jumped out to a 38-31 halftime lead before outscoring Lehigh, 63-38, in the second half.
 
"We received a great second half from our entire bench," Head Coach Marty Eggleston said . "Everyone played very well," he commented.
 
Freshman center/forward Jovon Jones scored a team-high 14 points on six-of-eight shooting and sophomore guard Kevin Kelly added five points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal.  Both Jones and Kelly were selected to the all-tournament team.   
 
Freshman guard Montez Day enjoyed quite a game with 13 points on six-of-seven shooting, a team-high eight assists and three steals.  Freshman guard Thomas Hronis added 13 points and three steals.  Freshman guard Kevin Miller, Jr., tallied 10 points and three steals.  Sophomore forward Miles Meredith grabbed a team-high eight rebounds along with six points.
 
LCCC is 3-0 for the young season and will travel to Toledo to play DII member Owens CC on Thursday, November 16, for a 7 p.m. tip off.
