Women's Basketball Drops Heart Breaker in Louisiana

"It was so close, we could taste it," stated a dejected CBC Head Women's Basketball Coach Nate Pursewell after his Cougars fell in overtime 78-84 to Bossier Parish Community College.  The Cougars held an 11 point lead with a little more than six minutes remaining in regulation.  The home standing Cavaliers tightened their defense and forced the Cougars into several turnovers and bad shots.

Three timeouts by Purswell had little impact as BPCC tied the score, and thoroughly handled the overtime period to get the win.  The Cougars were lead by their trio of sophomore guards.  Samantha Atkinson-Roach tossed in 29; while Darias Whittington scored 24 and Aryanna Brown chipped in 10 points.  Marilyn Davis is continuing to make her impact felt on the team, collecting four blocked shots and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Cougars will be back in action on Monday when they host Trinity Valley Community College in another Region XIV contest on Monday at 1:00 pm.
