Pioneers Lose to Miami-Dade

Miami-Dade takes the series sweep at home Wednesday by a final of 12-4.

The Sharks opened the scoring in the second inning and were able to pile on a seven run inning. Those seven runs set the tempo for the rest of the game as the Pioneers were not able to recover and get back into it. The Pioneers scratched across four runs the rest of the way but the damage has already been done.

Freshman Leo Horacio and Sophomore David Carnicella were able to collect two hits a piece in the losing effort and hopefully will continue to swing hot bats moving forward. Another bright spot for the Pioneers was Bo Simmons throwing well in relief after helping on the offensive side of the ball the last few games. The Pioneers may expect Simmons to help sure up a struggling bullpen moving forward.

Indian Rivers next two game series will be Friday at Eastern Florida at 6pm followed by a Saturday 1:00 home game.
