The Scottsdale Community College Volleyball team came up short tonight in their run for a national championship to Richard Bland College. Scottsdale got down early in the match, losing the 1st set by the score of 26-24 and lost the 2nd set by the score of 25-23. The Fighting Artichokes would rally and win the 3rd set by the score of 25-22 and won the 4th set 25-19. SCC and RBC would go back and forth in the 5th and final set with Scottsdale going down 8-6 before the side change. Scottsdale would rally again and take the lead 9-8 before going back to trading points with the Statesmen. The Artichokes would take a narrow 13-12 lead late in the match, but RBC would make a comeback and eventually win the 5th and final set by the score of 16-14. Scottsdale will finish the year with a record of (26-2), ACCAC Conference Champions, Region 1 Champions, West District Champions, and NJCAA Division II National Runner-Up.
