Hagerstown Hosting Region 20 D1 Men's Basketball Tournament

Hagerstown Community College is hosting the 2022 region 20 division one men's basketball championship tournament on Friday, February 25th and Saturday, February 26th. Hagerstown CC (#3) and Allegany College of Maryland (#2) will play Friday, February 25th at 4:00 p.m. The winner of that game will move onto the championship game on Saturday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. All games will be played in the Athletics Recreation Community Center (ARCC) at Hagerstown Community College. 

#1 seed Harford Community College is 13-11. The Fighting Owls lost to Allegany College of Maryland in the regular season (84-95) and played Hagerstown Community College twice in the regular season, winning both games (82-72, 105-97). Harford is coached by Dimitrios Jelen-Joy and assisted by Da'Suan Jones, Tyler Campbell and Darius Dangerfield. Freshman guard Ricardo Ross is the Fighting Owls leading scorer with 358 points this season.

#2 seed Allegany College of Maryland is 15-11. During regular season play, the Trojans lost to Hagerstown Community College, (44-64) and beat Harford Community College, (95-84). The Trojans are coached by Tommie Reams and assisted by Shane Scott, Ben Schlotter, and Colin Sappenfield. Sophomore guard Jordan Johnson is the Trojans leading scorer with 520 points on the season. 

#3 seed Hagerstown Community College is 8-20. During regular season play, the Hawks lost close games to Harford Community College, (72-82, 97-105), and beat Allegany College of Maryland, (64-44). The Hawks are coached by Bernard Hopkins and assisted by Owen Gaither and Colby Billie. Freshman point guard Malik Jordan is the Hawks leading scorer with 332 points on the season.
