Wolves defeat East Central in NJCAA Region 23 Tournament

ELLISVILLE – The Co-Lin Wolves defeated the East Central Warriors 5-1 in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 Tennis Tournament hosted by Jones College.  The matches were scheduled to start at 2 p.m. but were delayed due to the weather conditions during the night.

The teams split during the regular season the Warriors taking the first meeting 6-3 on Feb. 24 and the Wolves taking the second meeting 7-2 on April 1.

No. 4 Lawson Pearson (CL) def. Ian Gordon (EC) 7-5, 6-1

NEXT UP: The Wolves will face the No. 1 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs in a semifinal match on Friday, April 16 with matches scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
