FORT DODGE, IOWA- YOUR #9 Lakers Men's Soccer team traveled to Fort Dodge, Iowa to take on the Iowa Central Tritons. The Lakers opened up their division one schedule with an upset loss to the Tritons at home in overtime 2-1.
The Lakers got off to a good start when sophomore Raz Levy got onto the scoresheet within the first nine minutes from a Matais Daniel cross. Iowa Lakes would create a couple more chances but failed to convert any and would go into halftime leading 1-0. Fifteen minutes in the start of the second half the Lakers extended their lead to two when freshmen forward Baht Khin scored his first goal of the season assisted by Oluwasamilola "Dami" Olorunnisomo. Ten minutes later the Tritons would draw a foul inside the Laker box and would convert the penalty kick. Getting the Tritons on the board with a 2-1 scoreline. Twelve minutes later the Lakers would seal the win with a goal from Oluwasamilola "Dami" Olorunnisomo assisted by sophomore John Coronado.
The Lakers move to (6-2) record on the season and will host their final regular-season home game this Sunday, May 2nd in Spencer at 1 pm.
