Beach volleyball falls to two four-year schools

  Mesa, AZ – The Mesa beach volleyball team saw its three-match winning streak come to an end at the hands of two four-year schools Wednesday.

  Freshman from a 4-2 trip to California, the T-Birds fell to the Ottawa (AZ) "B" team, 3-2, and the Arizona Christian varsity, 4-1, at Gene Autry Park. Mesa is now 6-5 for the season.

  The Court 4 team of Abby Platt and Annie Hansen won in both matches to improve to 8-3 for the year.

  MCC gets right back into action Thursday, facing Wayne State (Neb.), an NCAA DII school, at 9:00 a.m., as well as fellow ACCAC member South Mountain, the only other conference member that sponsors the sport, at 3:00 p.m. Both matches will be at Kiwanis Park, in Tempe.
