The Highland Men's basketball team improves to 3-3 on the season after a 30-point victory over the Junior Varsity Spires of the University of Saint Mary on Tuesday night.

Holden Redparth, marked up his fourth 20 plus point game on the season scoring 25 points on the night and leading all scorers.

The Scotties jumped on the Spires early and didn't let up as they shot 46% from downtown in the first half scoring 15 of their 43 first half points from three. Highland forced 12 first half turnovers with eight steals and took a 16-point lead into the locker room.

Ryan Haskins came out firing in the second half shooting 3-4 from behind the arc and scoring 11 points in the half to finish with 19-points total on the night.

The Scotties kept a comfortable lead throughout the rest of the game never allowing the Spires to get closer than 18-points and finished the game winning 90-60.

"We are making strides in our defensive pressure and that is what I was focused on coming into this game," commented coach
Jerre Cole in his post-game interview.

That emphasis on defense shined through as Highland forced 25 turnovers on 15 steals and scored 28-points off of turnovers.

Four Scotties finished the game in double figures with Redparth leading the way with 25-points, Haskins with 19-points,
Alonzo Williams finished with 11 and
Taiveyhon Mason added in 10. Mason almost pulled off the triple-double adding in eight assists and eight rebounds on the night, while also grabbing five steals.

The Scotties will play at home this weekend in the HCC Scottie Classic on Friday and Saturday. They play Division I Northwest Kansas Technical College, the newest member of the KJCCC, Friday night at 7:30pm and take on Graceland University JV Saturday at 5:00 pm.
