The Dolphins of Brunswick CC Swept BSC in Series
Bolivia, North Carolina - “The Bobcats watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-3 loss to Brunswick Community College on Saturday. BCC scored on a home run by Evan Harding in the first inning, a single by Mason Phillips in the first inning, a single by Will Hood in the first inning, a single by Phillips in the second inning, and a single by Kenny Leiner in the second inning.
BSC struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Dolphins, giving up 11 runs.
Brunswick Community College got things started in the first inning when Harding hit a solo homer.
The Bobcats tallied three runs in the sixth inning. BSC’s offense in the inning was led by Evan Lopez and Elliot Hayward, all driving in runs in the inning.
Brunswick scored four runs in the seventh inning. This big inning was driven by walks by Phillips and Penn Sealey, a single by Leiner, and a sac fly by Tyler McNeil.
Ethan Haislip was the winning pitcher for the Dolphins. The pitcher allowed five hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. Coley Kilpatrick and Case Stroup entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
John Hawley took the loss for BSC. Hawley went two innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out three.
BSC racked up eight hits. Micah Brown, Jalen Perez, and Lopez each had multiple hits. Lopez, Perez, and Brown all had two hits to lead the Bobcats.
Brunswick CC tallied 13 hits on the day. Hood, Phillips, Harding, Leiner, and Cam Murphy all managed multiple hits.”
