Daytona State wins 2017 Women's Golf Championship

BRASELTON, Ga. – Daytona State (FL) won the 2017 NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship Thursday at Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, Georgia. The Falcons as a squad finished +55 to win its ninth championship in program history. The win also marks back-to-back titles for Daytona State.

Iowa Western’s Sena Ersoy finished +9 in four rounds of play to garner the individual championship. Ersoy began the day in second place and two strokes behind Barton County’s (KS) Peerada Piddon. Ersoy rallied in the final round with a 74, while Piddon tallied a 77.

  • Daytona State had two players finish in the top five in Jiwon Jeon (+11) and Grace St-Germain (+11). The duo finished tied for third place.
  • Seminole State’s (FL) Ronnane Tomlinson also finished in third at (+11), while the squad itself finished in second place behind Daytona State.
  • Tyler (TX), McLennan (TX) and Iowa Western rounded out the top five in the final team standings.
