No. 11 Apaches sweep No. 10 TVCC
In Athens, the No. 11 Apache Ladies swept the No. 10 Trinity Valley Lady Cardinals at the debut of renovated Leon Spencer Court at Cardinal Gym.
TJC, winners of 12 straight, improve to 24-6 overall and 3-3 in conference. The Apache Ladies lost their first three league games before bouncing back to down Navarro, Panola and TVCC.
No. 6 Navarro (31-3) earns the No. 1 seed in the East with a 5-1 mark, followed by TJC, TVCC (18-4, 2-4) and No. 13 Panola (22-6, 2-4).
TJC will now compete in the Region XIV Tournament on Nov. 2-4 in Baytown. The top two teams earn automatic berths to the NJCAA National Tournament on Nov. 15-17 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
TJC finished fourth in the nation last year. The Apache Ladies are seeking their third straight trip to nationals.
