Tri-C Men's Basketball Opens 2023 with OT Win

The Tri-C men's basketball team went back and forth with a familiar foe.  The Erie Community College Kats forced three overtimes in the first meeting back on 1 November 2022.  This game was no different as the Tops prevailed in overtime 102 – 92.   Devin Haid led all scores with 34 including 9/13 from the stripe 10 rebounds and six assists.  Jordan Persad lead the team with seven assist to go along with his 12 points.

The Tops dug deep and use a myriad of players to begin the second half of the season.  Manny Hill was sensational with 25 points on 50% shooting from the field and from long distance.  He also grabbed eight rebounds including a crucial offensive board late in the second half.  Hill also showed key defensive prowess with four steals and four deflections.

The game was back and forth with each team grabbing leads throughout,  The spark for the Tops came when Ronik Grewal checked in.  After missing his first three-pointer, Grewal went off and kept the Kats at bay.  Grewal finished with 18 points on 50% shooting from the great beyond.  His late shot clock three was a backbreaker and proved to be the dagger that sent the Kats homes with a loss.

The men are back in action on 11 Jan 2023 when the Bobcats from Bryant and Stratton visit the Metro gym.  The game will be a doubleheader and honor our Veterans at halftime.  All games are free and open to the public. The women tip-off at 5:00pm.
