The Greyhounds raced to a double-digit lead in the first half only to see the West Kentucky Stars hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to pull within 55-54. But after the break, the Greyhound offense exploded for 60 second-half points while limiting the Stars to 45. Both teams shot the proverbial lights out in an exciting game that featured 22 three-pointers between the two teams and several Greyhound dunks that helped the visitors post an outstanding 62.5% from the field and 55.0% from the three-point line.
Kamron Rose led ASU Mid-South with his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 22 points on 11-of-12 shooting to go with 10 rebounds, while Terrandus Smith scored 18 and Dee Montgomery finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Montee Randle put up 14 points, Jerrick Cole scored 13 and K.J. Patrick finished with 11. Terrikous Smith finished with a game-high seven assists while Shaheed Halk led both teams with four steals.
The Greyhounds are in the middle of a segment playing five games in ten days and travel to Northwest Mississippi Community College Thursday and Rhodes College Saturday before returning to The Dog House Monday at 6:00pm.
