Lady Commodores Volleyball Defeated At Lakeland CC, 3-0

Oct. 19, 2017 -- The Lorain County Community College volleyball team lost to Lakeland Community College in straight sets on Wednesday evening, 13-25, 24-26, 16-25.

Sophomore outside hitter Kelli Warren topped the offense with 13 kills and added four blocks for additional kills.  Freshman middle hitter Alana Carrion added 7 kills and also contributed four blocks for additional kills.  Sophomore defensive specialist McKenzie Zauner came up with 18 digs.

"We played hard, but Lakeland made a couple big runs on us in the first and third sets," Head Coach Ted Whitsel commented.

LCCC is 11-16 for the season.  The Lady Commodores will host Hocking College this Friday evening, October 20, at 6 p.m. and Columbus State on Saturday morning, October 21, at 11 a.m.   

At the Friday evening match, volleyball is holding a fundraiser for brain cancer research.  Everyone who attends the match will receive a Dunkin' Donuts gift card, good for a free hot or cold, small coffee or beverage. The gift card is redeemable right across the street from campus at the Dunkin' Donuts on N. Abbe Rd.
