PIQUA, Ohio – The Lakeland Community College volleyball team was in action today as they were victorious over Edison State Community College in five sets.

The Charges took the first two set of the match with relative ease as they won 25-17 and 25-16 respectively.  The Lakers responded by winning the third and the fourth set, 25-18 and 25-16 respectively to force a fifth and final set.  Lakeland rode the momentum they had built over the previous sets to win the fifth set and win the match, 3-2.

The Lakers were led by Brittney O'Hara (Sandusky, Ohio / Perkins) as she had double-digit kills and digs.  O'Hara had 10 kills and 16 digs in the match.  Kayla Zarbock (Willoughby, Ohio / South) led the Lakers ofense with 16 kills in the match as well as leading the team in blocks with seven.  Cary Morin (Burton, Ohio / Newbury) also had 14 kills and a block in the match.

Defensively, the Lakers were led by Nicolette Waite (Willoughby, Ohio / South) as she had a team high 23 digs in the match.  Waite also had two service aces in the match.  In addition to Waite, Morin had 15 digs in the match. 

Lakeland will be back in action Wednesday (Oct. 26) when they return home to host Cuyahoga Community College with the match set to start at 6 p.m.
