Colts Defeat Hudson Valley
Big second half send Orange to victory.
The Colts secured another victory as they defeated Hudson Valley 89-71 and was an all around team performance as the Colts as 4 out of the 5 starting players scored 14 or more points. At the start of the game the Colts were firing on all cylinders as they went on a 13-0 run to start the game before Hudson Valley was able to draw a foul where they made the score 13-1 through the first 5 minutes of play, after that the Colts could not stay away from the fouls as Hudson Valley went to the free throw line 19 times in the first half.
After a close first half with the score of 40-38 and looking to turn up the momentum and come away with the victory. After a stellar second half performance with the final score of 89-71 the Colts look to move onto a 3-0 record as they face off against Kingsborough Community College.
Sophomore, #4 Daniel Lans (Spring Valley, NY) was the leading scorer of the game as he finished with 18 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and one block to add to his great night.
Freshman, #1 Marquis Gill (Middletown, NY) tonight's second highest scorer as he finished with 17 points and came away with 4 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and acquired 2 steals. Gill played the most in tonight's game with 40 minutes of play.
Sophomore, #23 Tyreke Harewood (Bridgetown, Barbados) finished with 16 points and grabbed the teams high in rebounds with 8 and also came away with one block and one steal all in just 13 minutes of play.
Freshman, #2 Mat Shea (Wallkill, NY) finished with 14 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in just 19 minutes of play
Sophomore, #3 Jared Smalls (Middletown,NY) played 39 minutes in the game and was the main distributor of the game as he finished with 10 assists and came away with 5 steals and 2 rebounds
