MOLINE — The Carl Sandburg College softball team swatted five home runs on the day — including two by Bailey Ryan — but dropped both ends of an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader at Black Hawk on Thursday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Braves plated six runs in the third inning to extend their lead to 10-0.
• The Chargers got on the board in the fourth, scoring three runs on a pair of homers. Ryan led off the frame with a blast to left field. With one out, Maleaha Nagel reached on an error, and Kaitlyn Egenes brought her home with a two-run dinger to center.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Ryan added a fifth-inning double to go with her home run, finishing the game 2 for 3 with a run scored and run driven in.

KEY MOMENTS
• Down 7-1 in the fifth, the Chargers pulled within four on Nagel's two-run shot to center.
• Black Hawk tallied a run in the bottom of the fifth to go up 8-3, but a pair of walks set up Ryan for her second homer of the day, a three-run blast that made it 8-6. The Chargers, though, wouldn't get any closer as the Braves connected for three solo homers in the bottom of the inning.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Nagel had three of Sandburg's 10 hits in the contest. The sophomore first baseman had singles in the first and third to go along with her fifth-inning home run. Nagel also recorded a steal in the contest.
