Raiders Improve to 7-0 After Defeating Southern Crescent on Monday

NICEVILLE, Florida – Northwest Florida State women's basketball cruised to their 11th straight win on Monday after going to work on Southern Crescent, defeating the Tigers, 101-40.

Mekhia Chase led the Raiders in scoring once again, producing back-to-back 18-point outings. Celia Riviere posted her third straight double-double – fourth of the season – after dropping 16 points and securing 10 rebounds in the contest. Deborah Daventport (12) and Nevaeh Scott (11) both had their hand in mix offensively, each reaching double-digits, combining for a solid 9-13 from the field. Raiders' leading scorer Destiney McPhaul didn't produce many points tonight, only coming away with six, but put on a passing clinic with 16 total assists for the game, getting the rest of her teammates involved.

NWF produced their best shooting performance so far on the year, hitting a near 60% clip from the field – their highest percentage on the season. The Tigers struggled to take care of the ball, giving up 27 possessions to the Raiders, with 16 of those coming as steals. The Raiders were all over the glass tonight, coming away with a plus 18 rebounding differentials over the Tigers after securing 49 total boards.
