The Hudson Valley Community College men's basketball program tipped off the 2023 season with a road loss 103-79 against Columbia-Greene in Hudson, NY on Thursday evening.

The Vikings fell behind early as the hometown Twins had the hot-hand, making 16 three-point field goals, with four individuals each hitting three field goals from behind the arc. Hudson Valley couldn't keep up with the barrage of successful three-point attempts by the Twins and couldn't overcome a 28-point halftime deficit.

Leading the way for the Vikings offensively was Jason Harrison, who finished with a game-high 24 points on eight field goals made including three three-point field goals and he finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Brandon Gordon had a balanced game as he finished with 11 points, scoring six points in the first half and five second half points.

The schedule does not get any easier for the men's basketball team as they will welcome three, nationally-ranked programs to the McDonough Sports Complex next week, beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 7 when they host the Region 3 defending champions, No. 9 Fulton-Montgomery at 7 p.m.
