Bears Coast by Jaguars, 106-70

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Dallas College Brookhaven thumped Jacksonville College, 106-70, Tuesday night to complete a two-game sweep over the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Jaguars.

Brookhaven (5-4) won its second straight game, marking the second time the Bears have done so this season.

The Bears led 57-33 at halftime in a game they controlled most of the way.

Grant Jessen scored 28 points on 10 of 17 shooting, including 6 of 9 from three-point range, and had eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 24 minutes. Curtis Trey Moffett had a triple double, scoring 14 points, grabbing 10 boards and dishing out 10 assists. Terrell Palmer finished with 14 points and four assists. Jesse Klein scored 12 points, and had four assists in 20 minutes off the bench. Jackson Lino finished with nine points and six boards.

Jacksonville (3-4) shot 6 of 29 from three-point range. Brookhaven was 10 of 22 from long distance. The Bears hit 54 percent of their field goals, while holding the Jaguars to 33 percent.

Ronald Davis had 17 points on 6 of 11 shooting, and Jared Duplechain had 12 on 5 of 12 for Jacksonville, who lost to Brookhaven, 77-64, to open the season.

The Bears will host Temple College 6 p.m. Monday.
