Mustangs Win Double OT Thriller vs CCP 100-97

The Montgomery County Community College Men's basketball team improved to 4-0 after a tough double overtime battle against the Community College of Philadelphia. With the win, the Mustangs extend their hot start an extra game and showed an incredible level of resilience in this matchup, and they were able to close out the game with a final score of 100-97.

After being down 14 points early in the first half, the Mustangs quickly erased the deficit and gained momentum back from CCP, holding the lead at the end of the first half with a score of 38-32. Montco led for most of the second half, but CCP hit tough buckets down the stretch, including a game-tying 3 with 1.2 seconds left on the clock to send it to overtime. In OT, the game was an exciting back and forth, as both teams fought hard to stay in it while in foul trouble. Another big shot by CCP sent the game into double overtime, where the Mustangs were able to execute and defend their home court.

The Mustangs had 5 players in double figures in the scoring category, with freshman Brandon Bush leading the charge. Bush finished with 31 points (14-23 FG) and 15 rebounds, marking his season high in both categories. Freshman Baasil Saunders recorded his fourth double-double in four games, finishing with 19 points (7-15 FG), 13 rebounds and 8 assists in the contest. Sophomore Jason Price dumped in an efficient 19 points (8-13 FG) to go along with 9 boards and freshman Michael Gaines tallied12 points (4-7 FG) and 8 rebounds. Off the bench, John Dinolfi came through with 10 points (3-8 FG) and 5 rebounds.

The Mustangs will look to continue their win-streak on Tuesday, November 21 at 7:00 PM at Montgomery County Community College in a home matchup against Camden County College (4-2).
