RANGELY, Colo. — The No. 16 South Plains College women's basketball team drubbed Colorado Northwestern Community College 78-46 Tuesday — its 10th win in a row dating back to Nov 4.

The Lady Texans improve to 10-1 and will visit Midland College on Nov. 29 at 5:45 p.m.

"I thought we came out with great energy considering the stretch we have had and the full day of travel yesterday," South Plains head coach Cayla Petree said. " To come out and shoot 60 percent the first half and score 78 points on the road is a credit to our girl's toughness."

Gabbie Green shot 7 of 10 from the floor and finished with 17 points and three assists. La'Praisjah Johnson scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Mikayla Kuehne had 10 points for the Lady Texans, who shot 64 percent from the floor in the first quarter. Haleigh Hill led all Lady Texans with eight rebounds.

Nakeva Mack had 13 points and Analiza Elizondo scored 11 points for Colorado Northwestern.

"Being 10-1 heading into conference with only one returner is a good place to be," Petree said. "Thankfully, we have been able to pull out some wins at the same time we were growing as a team."
