#3 Louisburg College Hurricanes Captures Lead Early to Defeat BSC
Virginia Beach, VA - Game one, The Bobcats fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-1 loss to #3 nationally ranked Louisburg College Hurricanes on Thursday. Louisburg took the series 2-0, with a 16-0 win in game two. In game one, the Hurricanes took the lead on a home run in the first inning.
The Bobcats struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Louisburg, giving up 12 runs.
Louisburg opened up scoring in the first inning, when Abbie Yarboro homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
The Hurricanes scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning came thanks to a single by Lark Collins, a home run by Yarboro, and a double by Foster Sharpe.
Carrigan Ewers got the start for Louisburg. Ewers allowed one hit and one run over five innings, striking out eight.
Anna Mackie led things off on the rubber for BSC. The righthander allowed 13 hits and 12 runs over six innings, striking out three.
The Hurricanes smacked three home runs on the day. Collins went deep in the fifth inning. Yarboro had a dinger in the first and sixth innings.
Alexis Hudgens went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead BSC in hits. The Bobcats were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jaylynn Scott had the most chances in the field with seven.
Louisburg College saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Sharpe, Yarboro, Collins, and Ansley Lee each had multiple hits on the day. Chelsea Roberson made the most plays with 11.
