Mustangs Make it 6 in a Row

The Montco Mustangs posted their 6th straight win in Tuesday's matchup vs. Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology with a final score of 102-84, expanding on their scorching hot start to the season. The Mustangs came out with the first punch, going up by as many as 19 points in the first half. Thaddeus Stevens, however, were able to claw their way back and keep the game close, cutting the Mustangs' lead to just 5 points by halftime. The Mustangs never trailed in this contest, and instead scored a season-high 59 points in the second half. 

Montco shot over 60% from the field, outrebounded the Bulldogs by 14 boards, and let their defense shine throughout the final minutes of the game. Freshman Brandon Bush put up video game numbers, finishing with 24 points (11-16 FG), 11 rebounds, 8 assists, and 8 steals to lead the Mustangs, along with Freshman Baasil Saunders who had his most efficient game thus far, with 22 points on 9-11 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Sophomore Jason Price poured in 18 points (7-14 FG) while Cris Dinolfi finished with 12 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals off the bench. Brandon Bush and Baasil Saunders were each able to show off their athleticism as they each threw down fast-break dunks on the Bulldogs, hyping up the bench and crowd. 

The Mustangs will look to remain undefeated as they travel to Middlesex County College (7-0) in a clash between two undefeated teams. The game will be held on Thursday, November 30 at 7 P.M., immediately following the Montco Women's game, which will be played at 5 P.M. at Middlesex. The Mustangs' next home game will take place on Saturday, December 2 at noon as they take on Luzerne County Community College.
