RedTails Volleyball Falls to Kirkwood

Cedar Rapids–RedTail Volleyball had a tough match on the road vs Kirkwood Community College Cougars on Wednesday, September 28, at 6:30pm where they fell 3-1.

Both teams coming in ranked it was set to be a good match from the beginning. The RedTails came out to a slow start and Kirkwood would take the first set with a score of 25-15. The RedTails would battle back and take the second set 25-20. The third set would be a close one but Kirkwood would be able to squeak it out with a score of 25-23. Kirkwood would continue their ways in a tough fought forth set and was just too much for the RedTails and they would take the fourth set 25-22 and win the match 3-1. 

Assistant coach Molly Shamansky has some positive words after a tough battle against Kirkwood. 

"Kirkwood was an efficient blocking team." she said. "We struggled to finish early in the game and that hurt us in the end. Looking forward to making some adjustments and bouncing back this weekend. 

The RedTails next matchup will come on the road facing off against Illinois Central College and Southeastern Community College at DMACC on Saturday, October 1, at 10:00am. and 2:00pm.
