Recap

LCCC got off to a quick start but Wayne's size and depth became too much for the Commodores who only got to the free throw line sparingly throughout the game, going just 4-5.  LCCC held an early lead of 11-5 and led 25-23 before the Wildcats ripped off a 16-5 run to end the first half and take a 39-30 lead into the break.

Wayne would maintain a double digit lead for most of the second half and keep the Commodores at bay, eventually winning 85-70. Jamair Blackmon's long three at the 17 minute mark of the second half to cut the Wildcat lead down to 37-43 was the closest the Commodores would come in the second half.

Notes

  • This was Deonte Benejan's third straight game of scoring 20+ points for LCCC and the third straight game of hitting eight or more field goals
  • Jamair Blackmon had his second multi-steal game of the season, his third game of 6 or more rebounds, and his third straight game of connecting for a 3-pointer
  • LCCC shot a season-high 44% from the field and had just five attempts from the free throw line, a season low.
