Men Finish 1-1 at KCKCC Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Highland men's basketball team traveled to Kansas City, KS to partake in the KCKCC Classic hosted by the Blue Devils. Highland split on the weekend losing to North Central Missouri College 71-79 and beating Link Year Prep 104-64.

The Scotties were struggling to get their shots to fall shooting under 40% in both field goals and from behind the arc. Holden Redparth led the offense with 24 points and six rebounds with Jaylin Rutherford the only other Scottie in double digit points with 13. James Caldwell led in rebounds wth eight with help from Leland Harvey with six. The team had 17 assists to the Pirates 11 but the Pirates led in all other stat columns.

The men had a big win over Link Year Prep scoring over 100 points for the first time this season. The team went 12-28 from the behind the arc led by Ryan Haskins and Dylan Owen both with three and Kevin Perry and Redparth both draining two. Five Scotties were in double digit scoring led by Redparth with 19. Taiveyhon Mason was one rebound shy of a triple double with 14 points, 14 assists, and nine rebounds. The team ended with an impressive 88% from the free throw line.

The Scotties are now 2-3 on the season and will host The University of Saint Mary JV Spires on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:30PM.
