Saints Drop First Game Despite No-Hitter From Mallory Forrester
Clearwater, FL- On Saturday, January 27th, the Saints traveled down to Clearwater for the JUCO Kickoff Classic at the Eddie C. Moore Complex to play their season opener. Despite a no-hitter by transfer Mallory Forrester, the Saints dropped their first game 3-2 to Pensacola State College.
How it Happened
- Mallory Forrester commanded the circle for the Saints and recorded 21 outs. Santa Fe allowed zero hits and three runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five batters and walking five batters.
- Madi Conway led the way with three hits as the Saints outhit the Pirates 6-0.
- Pensacola jumped out front in the third innning, scoring three runs after three errors were committed by the Saints. Otherwise, the Saints were solid on defense, turning two double plays in the game.
- Kylie Jarman stepped in the circle for the Pirates. She surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four batters and walking one.
- Sydney Fowler went 1-for-3 at the plate as she led the Saints with two runs batted in.
