MADISON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs started the 2022 campaign with an 8-0 win over the Tougaloo Bulldogs.
Holmes will play William Carey JV at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Hattiesburg.
The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard late in the first half when Odanci Ndayisaba scored on a penalty kick as the half ended.
Sammion Davis scored in the 55th minute on an assist from Bienvenue Sunzu. Davis scored two minutes later on an assist from Sunzu and Ndayisaba to put Holmes up 3-0.
The Bulldogs went up 4-0 on another goal from Ndayisaba in the 68th minute. Patrick Vallean made the score 5-0 on an assist from Caleb Jones in the 70th minute.
The Bulldogs' lead went to 6-0 in the 74th minute on an unassisted goal by Edy Gael. Niyonizigiye Claude scored in the 82nd minute to put the Bulldogs up 7-0. Ndayisaba scored in the 85th minute on an unassisted goal to end scoring at eight.
