NJCAA and Team IP launch hurricane relief campaign

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The NJCAA National Office based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Team IP, Inc. - headquartered in Stuart, Florida - announced Thursday a joint campaign to aid NJCAA member colleges and their communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

The campaign will center on the marketing and sale of a special t-shirt designed by Team IP - the NJCAA’s Official Championship Merchandise Partner. The “Texas Strong - #NJCAACares” t-shirt will be available to purchase with all proceeds going to a special fund that will be distributed to NJCAA Region 14 to aid its member colleges and local communities as they recover from Hurricane Harvey.

Bulk orders (24 or more) for the “Texas Strong - #NJCAACares” Hurricane Harvey campaign t-shirts will run $15 per shirt and will yield the most benefits for the cause. To make a bulk order, please contact Team IP directly at 1-877-821-8643 (toll free) or 772-398-4664 by Friday, September 8th.

Single orders (direct to garment) can be placed online at www.teamip.com/njcaa/ or by clicking on the image. Pricing for single orders is $24.99, plus shipping and handling. Online orders of 24 or more will be given a 40% discount, dropping the price per t-shirt to $14.99, plus shipping and handling.

The NJCAA encourages anyone that participates to show their support for the campaign by using the #NJCAACares hashtag on social media.

The NJCAA has 21 member colleges in southeast Texas – identified in the association as NJCAA Region 14 – and many have experienced catastrophic damage and flooding over the past week.

“We have been in constant contact with Region 14 leadership this week and are thankful that all student-athletes, administrators and their families are okay thus far,” said NJCAA CEO Dr. Chris Parker. “With that being said, the destruction and devastation facing our members in that area as the storm passes is tragic. The NJCAA is a close-knit organization. We are a big family that stretches across the country and we had to do something to aid our member colleges in need. We are fortunate to have a great partner in Team IP to help us with this effort and I want to challenge all our member colleges and their fans as well as all our partners to participate in this relief campaign.”

Team IP is no stranger to loss and destruction as it experienced the wrath caused by Hurricane Francis and Jeanne in 2004 when their city was struck by back-to-back hurricanes within a three week period. Damage from both storms caused significant interruptions to their business resulting in major setbacks for the company, employees and clients.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to all those affected by Hurricane Harvey," said Team IP President and CEO Randy Sparks. "After personally and professionally experiencing the aftermath caused by a major hurricane our team will work tirelessly to assist in raising funds for the members of NJCAA family affected in Region 14."
